Tekken The King of Iron Fist Tournament, merupakan sebuah tournament beladiri disuatu zaman yang tidak pernah disebutkan kapan. Zaman penuh dengan kehancuran tanpa pemerintahan. Satu-satunya otoritas berada di tangan perusahaan raksasa (the biggest company in the tekken world) "Mishima Zaibatstu". Yang dipimpin oleh seorang ahli beladiri (mishima's traditional kyokushin karate) dan pemilik kekuatan super genetika "Heihachi Mishima".
Untuk memberi kesempatan kepada manusia di seluruh dunia, agar mendapat tempat setara dirinya, dia menyelenggarakan sebuah tournament beladiri yang kita kenal sebagai Tekken. Heihachi sekaligus ingin meraup keuntungan dari tournament tersebut melalui sponsor dan sebagainya. Pemenang tournament akan diberi sebagian otoritas untuk memimpin dunia

Terlampau cintanya heihachi terhadap ilmu beladiri, ia mengabaikan anak dan istrinya, bahkan anak satu-satunya "Kazuya" dibuang ke tebing gunung berapi yang masih aktif. Sungguh perbuatan keji, ia ingin membuat anaknya sekuat dirinya dengan melemparkan ke jurang di usia 17 tahun.
Namun, tiada yg menduga bahwa "Kazuya" yang hampir mati, mengadakan transaksi dengan iblis agar ia mampu hidup kedua kali dengan kekuatan yang lebih. Inilah yang kita kenal sebagai "Devil Kazuya".

Puluhan tahun berlalu, tournament pun terus berlanjut hingga kesekian kalinya, perseteruan ayah dan anak ini belum pernah berakhir, bahkan mereka tidak pernah dapat membunuh satu sama lain. Yang menjadi korban adalah para peserta Tekken yang tidak terlatih, mereka menjadi bulan-bulanan, penyalur nafsu membunuh kedua iblis berwujud ayah dan anak tersebut.

Ditengah sifat iblisnya, kazuya tetap manusia biasa yang butuh cinta dan kasih sayang. Kazuya pun menikah secara diam-diam dengan seorang ahli beladiri yang ia cintai dan begitu memahami dirinya yaitu "Jun Kazama". Dari Jun, Kazuya melahirkan anak bernama "Jin Kazama" (inilah jagoan kita yang selalu muncul sebagai icon Tekken series).

Sama seperti heihachi, kazuya yang terlalu cinta terhadap kekuatannya yang tak terkendali, lari meninggalkan anak dan istrinya, namun ia masih lebih baik, karena alasan kepergiannya ialah ketakutan akan jiwanya yang tak terkendali. Jun yang patah hati karena ditinggalkan suaminya pergi mengikuti tournament agar bertemu dengan kazuya, namun peristiwa tak di duga terjadi. "Ogre" makhluk penghisap energi "Ki" muncul ke muka bumi.

Karena Kazuya pernah menyentuh Jun, Ogre mengira Jun adalah Kazuya yang memiliki kekuatan "Devil Kazuya". Ogre pun membunuh Jun di luar pertandingan dan menyerap kekuatannya.

Tekken 3

Jin Kazama merasa bahwa ayahnyalah yang bertanggung jawab atas kematian ibunya, karena telah meninggalkan keluarga saat kedatangan Ogre. Di usia ke-15 tahun Jin mengikuti tournament Tekken ke-3, jin tidak berhasil menemui ayahnya (kazuya), namun ia menemui ogre, dan ia mengalahkannya. Jin berhasil membunuh Ogre, tapi tidak berhasil menjadi juara Tekken 3.

Tekken 4 & Tekken 5

Masih ada kejuaraan selanjutnya, langkah demi langkah Jin pergunakan untuk berlatih dan mengikuti kejuaraan diluar Tekken. Ia tumbuh semakin kuat, namun semakin kuat dirinya ia semakin merasakan nafsu jahat di dalam dirinya.
Dan, ia mulai mempertanyakan dan menemukannya, ia menyadari bahwa kekuatan supernya berasal dari darah Heihachi (kakeknya) dan yang lebih mengerikan lagi didalam darahnya juga mengalir darah Kazuya (Ayahnya) yang telah bersekutu dengan iblis, "Devil Kazuya".

Kekuatan gelap ini memperkenalkan diri sebagai karakter yang kita kenal sebagai "Devil Jin".

Tidak pernah ia duga ternyata kekuatan jahat inilah yang selalu mengantarkannya ke kedalam kejayaan. Kejuaraan Tekken 4 dan 5 pun dimenangkannya tanpa cacat apapun. Ia berhasil menjumpai ayahnya (Kazuya) dan mengalahkannya, begitu pula Heihachi (kakeknya yang tamak) gelar juara dunianya selama Tekken 1 dan 2 dapat dilengserkan. Dan karena rekor Jin yang telah menang 2 kali berturut-turut ditambah Heihachi menghilang, bahkan dianggap mati, membuat perusahaan mishima zaibatsu berada di genggaman Jin sekarang. Seluruh dewan telah mempercayakan perusahaan untuk dibawah pimpinannya.

Tekken 6

Namun Jin Kazama juga manusia, pada puncak kejayaannya dia menganggap kekuatan ialah segalanya. Ia mulai memborbardir wilayah yang menentangnya. Memperdalam kekuatan gelapnya hingga dirinya didominasi oleh "Devil Jin" bukan dirinya lagi. Begitu banyak yang membenci dirinya, seraya mereka bertanya, ada apa dengan Jin, pendekar panutan dunia menjadi keji seperti ini. Beberapa orang yang membencinya berharap Tekken ke-6 segera diselenggarakan agar Jin ada yang mengalahkannya, bahkan membunuhnya dan dapat menggantikan posisinya.

Pihak-pihak yang menentang Jin antara lain:
Miguel yang adiknya terbunuh saat mishima zaibatsu menyerang, Lars dari organisasi pemberontak pemerintahan baru Jin, Kazuya (Ayah Jin) yang kini memimpin G-Corporation pecahan mishima zaibatsu yang akan menentang Jin, dan Hwoarang rival Jin yang tidak habis pikir dengan perbuatan Jin sekarang.

Lain Jin lain mereka, jin menganggap Tekken 6 sebagai ajang peningkatan kekuatannya, semakin banyak yang menentangnya maka kekuatan jahatnya "Devil Jin" semakin memiliki semangat untuk membunuh.

Jin Kazama (風間仁 Kazama Jin) is one of the main characters of the Tekken series. He is featured on the packaging for the console version of each sequel following his introduction in Tekken 3, he has also been the main protagonist for virtually every installment since his debut in Tekken 3 and his role as an anti-hero in Tekken 6.

Kazuya Mishima (三島一八 Mishima Kazuya?) is one of the main characters in the Tekken series. He appears in all of the Tekken games except Tekken 3. Though seen as the protagonist and hero of the first Tekken game, Kazuya is one of the major villains in the rest of the series. Most importantly, Kazuya is the son of Heihachi Mishima and the father of Jin Kazama. He's also the half-brother of Lars Alexandersson, the adoptive brother of Lee Chaolan, and the grandson of Jinpachi Mishima.

Lars Alexandersson (ラース・アレクサンダーソン Rāsu Arekusandāson?) is a fictional character of the Tekken series. He was first introduced in Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion. He is the main protagonist of the Scenario Campaign mode, along with Alisa Bosconovitch. Lars' tagline is "the one who betrayed his own in order to build a new era".

Jun Kazama (風間準 Kazama Jun?) is a character in the Tekken series who first made her debut in Tekken 2. She is the mother of Jin Kazama. Jun was assumed to have been killed in Ogre's wrath when he awoke, but her official status is "missing". Jun is one of a small group of characters who have only appeared in one canon game. In Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Jun transforms into Unknown, the final boss.

King (キング Kingu?) is a title that two characters have taken in the Tekken series. Even though there have been two characters who have taken the name, each is simply called King in their respective games, though a numerical value is sometimes given to them to separate them as different characters, similar to Armor King.

Both King I and King II are luchadores from Mexico and support orphans across the world. In the games, they are never seen without their jaguar masks. King (albeit technically as two separate characters) has appeared in all main Tekken games, making him one of the most recognizable characters in the series.

Spoiler for Heihachi:

Heihachi Mishima (三島平八 Mishima Heihachi) is one of the main characters in the Tekken series and he debuted in the first game in the series and has returned for all subsequent titles. Though seen as the protagonist of the second Tekken game, he is the anti-hero and one of the main antagonists of the series as he is almost always responsible for the events, though his impact on the story has seemed to decrease since Tekken 5.

Heihachi Mishima is the host of the 1st, 3rd, and 4th King of Iron Fist Tournaments. He is the son of Jinpachi Mishima, serving as the final boss of 1 and 4 and the sub-boss of 3. He is the father of Kazuya Mishima and Lars Alexandersson, adoptive father of Lee Chaolan, grandfather of Jin Kazama, and the husband of Kazuya's mother. Heihachi's fighting style is Mishima Style Fighting Karate. He is also the "Commander" of the Tekken Force Unit.

Asuka Kazama (風間飛鳥 Kazama Asuka?) is a character in the Tekken series who was first introduced in Tekken 5 and has returned for every subsequent game in the series. She is known to be a relative of the series' lead character, Jin Kazama.

Emilie De Rochefort (エミリ・ド・ロシュフォール Emiri do Roshufōru?) commonly known as Lili (リリ Riri?) for short, is a fictional character in the Tekken fighting game series. Along with Sergei Dragunov, Lili is one of the two new characters who were introduced in Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection.

A Monegasque high school student from Monaco, Lili is the only daughter of Mr. Rochefort, a wealthy Monegasque man. She resides in a very luxurious suburban mansion with her father, and her butler Sebastian.

Ancient Ogre (オーガ Ōga?), who also goes by the name Toshin in Japanese and is also known as The God of Fighting by the ancient Aztecs, is the main antagonist of Tekken 3. Ogre is the Tekken series' first main villain who is not a member of the Mishima family.

Spoiler for Nina:

Nina Williams (ニーナ・ウィリアムズ Nīna Wiriamuzu) is an Irish, cold-blooded assassin that made her first appearance in the original Tekken game and has appeared in every Tekken game ever since. Nina has a lethal fighting style, consisting of throws, grapples, and holds. She has a rivalry with her younger sister, Anna Williams.

During the end of Tekken 2, Nina and Anna undergo Cryogenic Sleep. They are experimented upon for 15 years (this is the reason why they both remain physically young throughout the tournaments). Before those years of Cryogenic sleep, she was impregnated without her consent and subsequently gave birth to Steve Fox (who first appears in Tekken 4 and onwards).

Nina also stars in her own action/strategy game, Death by Degrees.

Jinpachi Mishima (三島仁八 Mishima Jinpachi?) is a fictional character in the Tekken series. He is the main antagonist of Tekken 5. He is the father of Heihachi Mishima and the founder and former head of the Mishima Zaibatsu.

Spoiler for yoshimitsu:

Yoshimitsu (吉光) is a fictional character who was first introduced in the original Tekken game and has returned for all subsequent sequels in the Tekken series, except Tekken Revolution. Additionally, an analogous character bearing the same name, weapon, clan, and basic information, was later carried over into Namco’s Soul series of fighting games as a major character, making his debut in Soul Calibur and returned for all of the series main installments.

Ling Xiaoyu (凌曉雨 Líng Xiǎoyǔ; Japanese: リン・シャオユウ Rin Shaoyū) is a fictional character who was introduced to the Tekken franchise in Tekken 3 as a 16 year old girl and has returned in every subsequent release. Xiaoyu's fighting style was brought on with some influence from her master, Wang Jinrei. Her main goal throughout most of the series is to, through fighting in the tournaments, win so she can earn enough money to build her own amusement or theme park.

Hwoarang (Hangul: 화랑; Hanja: 花郎 Hwarang; Japanese: ファラン Faran) is a character in the Tekken series who first appeared in Tekken 3 and has returned in all subsequent games. He is the Taekwondo student of Baek Doo San, and entered the third Tournament to get revenge on Ogre for "killing" his master. He has also become Jin Kazama's rival after the two fought to a draw in one of Hwoarang's street matches before the events of Tekken 3.

Marshall Law (マーシャル・ロウ Māsharu Rou?) is an American fighter of Chinese descent who was introduced in the original Tekken game, and has returned for all subsequent Tekken games, except Tekken 3 and Tekken Tag Tournament (where he was replaced by his son, Forest Law). He is a very close friend of Paul Phoenix and is married to Mrs. Law.

Paul Phoenix (ポール・フェニックス Pōru Fenikkusu) is a character who made his debut in the first Tekken game and since then has appeared in every Tekken game up to date. He is a hotheaded, aggressive character, determined more than ever to win the tournament to prove he is the best fighter in the entire universe (he means this literally, according to his ending in Tekken 5). He is very hostile towards the Mishima family and everyone and anything associated with it (most notably the Mishima Zaibatsu and Kazuya Mishima) and never hesitates to show this hatred in matches.

Julia Chang (ジュリア・チャン Juria Chan?) is a video game character in the Tekken series. She is the adopted daughter of Michelle Chang, who taught her how to fight, which is why their moves are the same. Julia first appeared in Tekken 3. Since then, Julia has appeared in all subsequent games up to Tekken Tag Tournament 2, in which she appears as a Luchadora, named Jaycee (ジェイシー Jeishī?) also known as J.C., as an alter-ego. Julia has replaced Michelle's style and Michelle herself in the Tekken series. Julia hopes to one day reforest Arizona, which is where both Michelle and Julia live.

Bryan Fury, a former Soldier turned officer in the International Police Organization, was killed in a shoot-out in Hong Kong.

Bryan's corpse was transported to the laboratory of a man named Doctor Abel. This 88-year-old scientist was fairly famous in the underground society, but his findings were often preceded by Doctor Bosconovitch's. However, at last, he came to the last step of completing his master project... the Cyborg Army. Dr. Abel thought that a perfect cyborg must have the mechanics built by his rival, Dr. Boskonovitch, so he reanimated Fury's body and sent him off to collect this data.

A man who lives for his job. Dedicated to the point of obsession, Lei is a law abiding and gifted cop. He is fair minded and affable to those around him (unless they break the law). In his Tekken 5 interludes, he is shown treating his friends (such as Wang Jinrei and Steve Fox) with compassion and respect. For his enemies however, he attains a stern and direct approach to their arrest. Although his attempts can sometimes be clumsy, Lei's intentions are always vitreous in nature.

Spoiler for Anna:

Anna is the younger sister of Nina Williams. Anna learned her Aikido techniques from her mother, a female national Aikido champion. Her father, Richard Williams, taught Nina assassination techniques, but he has neglected Anna for years and never taught them to her.

It seems as if Anna entered the first tournament to get back at her sister, but they ended up fighting at their apartment.

Ending Description: Anna has no ending even though she makes a cameo in Nina William's ending. She bursts into the kitchen, accusing her sister of stealing one of her high heels. In anger, Nina slaps her and Anna turns her back sobbing.

While her back is turned, Nina reveals that she had the shoe the whole time.

Eddy was born into one of the richest families in Brazil. Ever since he was a small boy, he knew he would one day take over the family business. He was well-liked in his home town because he was a hard worker who treated others as his equals.
