The original idea is 1000 punten(permisi), does it sound better when it convert into 1000 pardon?
1000 Pardon
Cicadas, Cibeunying Kidul Sub district, Bandung, West Java.
Taking a sample from a wider population should bring a lot of characteristic when trying to give a good illustration about a data you have collected. I remember one of my lecturer remind a student about determining a sample. Take an economy category he said; please be careful when seeing a stratified society. Make sure you give a proper amount of sample on the lower class. Re assures to give a chunk of sample that represents them.
It is weird, because I am not a fan of his thought and principles. But again his thought and principal linger most of the time. I, on the other hand believe that a one day story would give a huge pile of data to describe characteristic of a social structure. One of the examples is one of data I collect when seeing lower class daily being affected by the spread of COVID 19.
People who live in Cicadas, Bandung could be considered as an enclave of multicultural race from an anthropologist point of view. It is a micro area of West Java province in Indonesia, South East Asia. Back in colonial era until early independence of Indonesia, this part of Bandung is already known for the density of population. It has a lot variety of cultural background that in and out the area to give a mixture characteristic of their inhabitants.
Even until today Cicadas is still known as an alley with 1000 pardon. It is an expression that local people use to describe how every activity in an alley has a lot of pardon. When the density reaches full measure, local people need to have a pardon every time they bump into people. And you will bump into people on not more than five steps.
One of the main reasons of high density is strategic location that Cicadas has in the area. One of the well-known local newspapersdescribes the area as gate to enter the city. Either it is logistic coming to town through Kiaracondong train station or people rushing from Cicaheum bus station. The good traffic not only attracts people for economy activity. It is also raise criminal activity in the area. Spanning from colonial era until millennium era, Cicadas is still known as an area in Bandung that is rare to find police unit patrolling. The local rumors said that law enforcement is avoiding to made contact with the member of society.
