Charlotte is an original TV animation project by Aniplex, Key, and P.A. Works.
The story centers around the special abilities that occur among a small percentage of boys and girls in puberty. Yuu Otosaka uses his power without others knowing, and lives a fairly normal, average school life. Before him suddenly appears a girl, Nao Tomori. Due to his meeting with her, the fate of special power-users will be exposed.

Yuu is a first-year student at Hoshinoumi Academy and is the protagonist of Charlotte. He is rude and bad at studying. He usually behaves as if he were smart, but he is actually a chronic cheater. He says things which sound clever, and he is a narcissist. He has the ability to take over another person's body for five seconds.
Nao is a first-year student and also the student council president of Hoshinoumi Academy. She is hardworking, but is also narcissistic. She has the ability to make herself disappear, but this is limited to one person of her choosing at a time. She is a huge fan of the band Zhiend.
A first-year student and member of the student council. He can move at such high speeds that he looks like he's teleporting. However, he's not totally able to control where he stops, so he has to wear protective gear under his school uniform to prevent injury.
She can summon spirits, rather, the spirit take possession of her body. But she can only do that with her sister's spirit Misa, and she can't control it. When this occurs, the color of her eyes change. She is also the vocalist of one of the bands in the anime, "How-Low-Hello".
Misa is Yusa's deceased older sister who seemingly takes over Yusa's body at will. When she takes over, Yusa's appearance changes to that of what you see above. Not much is known about her except her voice sample seems to portray as a very brash character. She also has her own special ability: Pyrokinesis, or creation of fire from thin air.
Ayumi is Yuu's younger sister, who Yuu cares a lot about, and who cares a lot about Yuu. They seem to be quite close, which is ironic considering Yuu's personality. Not much else is known about her, but Nao seems to know her personally
